AUKOM e.V.
Association goal – Manufacturer-neutral training in production metrology:
“Ausbildung Koordinatenmesstechnik e.V. - AUKOM” aims to ensure needs-based, up-to-date, comparable, verifiable and provable training in production metrology within the scope of its possibilities. The association promotes fundamental, comprehensive and solid training in the field of industrial production metrology, in particular in the field of coordinate metrology. The association ensures the level and comparability of the courses offered by partners in the framework of production metrology training. It organizes events to promote the exchange between manufacturers, users and science in the area of training in production metrology and publishes new fi ndings and trends in this field. It develops, supports and disseminates the “culture of good measurement” and promotes global cooperation in the field of production metrology training.
Task of AUKOM e.V.:
Providing a manufacturer-neutral training concept based on well-founded and practically tested procedures with interfaces to manufacturer-specific device training including an independent final examination and a generally recognized certificate.
SERVICES OF AUKOM E.V.:
- Comprehensive, comparable, machine-independent and generally recognized training in coordinate metrology
- Implementation of the generally recognized, comparable and graded final test
- Issue of AUKOM Certificates
- Preparation and updating of the didactic training documents for the three training stages

History of AUKOM e.V.:
The “Ausbildungskonzept Koordinatenmesstechnik (aukom)” was developed as part of a three-year research project (1998-2001) by the FQS (Forschungsgemeinschaft
Qualität e.V. of the DGQ) together with a project-accompanying industrial committee at the Chair of Quality Management and Production Metrology (QFM) at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. It was funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labor (now the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology) (BMWI). The participants in the research project and other interested parties joined together at the end of the project period in 2001 to form an association called “Ausbildung Koordinatenmesstechnik e.V.” (AUKOM).
