| Every stylus tip acts as a filter. This means that
when probing the part it gives a smoothened surface and not the correct
surface contour. This is called filter effect. Accordingly, the larger the stylus sphere, the greater the filter effect.
As a metrologist, you therefore always have to take into account the mechanical filter effect and to use, if necessary, a smaller stylus sphere. For an illustration of the filter effect, just click on the right on the button "Start Animation".
